About US

Des Moines African Youth festival awards, known as DAFESTA, is Iowa’s biggest annual African Youth festival event. We serve the whole Greater Des Moines community by sharing African culture and heritage through music, food, and costumes. Our participants consist of people living in Greater Des Moines and willing to learn about African culture and heritage. While we appeal to those with African heritage, we welcome and include those with any background. This is important because this platform promotes the rich African culture and heritage among Africans and other races in the United States. This will ensure unity amidst cultural diversity and will help to curb all forms of tribalism or racism in Greater Des Moines and around this great country.

Cultural Tapestry – Our organization Supports arts, culture, and heritage as diverse, accessible, inclusive, and equitable throughout Central Iowa. Because it focuses on the performance and promotion of African culture and heritage through a live performance of various African musical genres and fashion models through the annual African youth festival in Iowa, this African Youth Festival Award is the first of its kind in the united states, especially in Des Moines, Iowa, to search, discover, refine and reward African youth who have in their talent for music, modeling, and other performing industry.
